THE 'SOMEDAY' RESET
By The Social Daisies Project
Today is 'someday'
The ‘Someday’ Reset is a free, one off home reset for people whose space has become difficult or overwhelming to manage.
That might mean cleaning, sorting, decluttering, getting rooms usable again, or simply getting things back to a point where your home feels more manageable.
The aim isn't perfection. The aim is to support you in getting your space back to a steadier starting point so you have a better chance of engaging with everything else going on in your life.
My background is in mental health and community services, and one of the biggest friction points for people I supported in the community was where practical support could make a real difference, but they weren’t eligible for the right service or funding, or weren’t in a financial position to access that support privately.
People can know exactly what they need to do and still have no idea how to get from where they are now to where they want to be. And a plan can look great on paper. But life doesn't happen on paper.
Sometimes the hard part isn't even doing the work, but rather, reaching out for help.
Letting someone into your home in the condition it might be in can bring up feelings of guilt and shame and be more overwhelming than the condition your home is in, and the support that IS available to you, will benefit you long term, but it doesn't support the immediate need you have.
I truly believe in helping people build capacity, confidence and independence. But I also think those tools can be much harder to use when the environment around you is still making everyday life harder.
That’s where The ‘Someday’ Reset by Social Daisies comes in.
Your home has become overwhelming over time
Your mental health or life circumstances have made it difficult to keep on top of things
You aren’t eligible for the practical support you need
You have funding or services around you, but there’s still a practical gap
You aren’t in a financial position to access the help privately
You’ve been putting it off because you just don’t know where to start
You don’t need
a diagnosis.
an NDIS plan.
to already be connected with a service.
While mental health is a particular area of interest for me, The ‘Someday’ Reset isn’t restricted to people experiencing mental health challenges.
You just need to reach out. We can have a chat about your space, what you need and whether it’s something I can safely take on.
Every space will be different, but The ‘Someday’ Reset might include things like:
Cleaning spaces that have built up over time
Decluttering and sorting
Getting kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms or living areas usable again
Clearing surfaces and walkways
Helping work through belongings one area at a time
Lower risk clutter or hoarding environments that I can safely manage on my own
Getting things back to a more manageable starting point
We’ll work out what matters most to you rather than me deciding what your home should look like.
The ‘Someday’ Reset is intended for individuals with genuine challenges in accessing practical support.
This is not intended for:
End of lease cleaning
Cleaning for landlords, real estate agents or property managers
Commercial cleaning
Regular maintenance cleaning
There are also some environments I’m not equipped to safely take on right now. These limits are about safety and scope. They aren’t a judgement about you or your home.
Right now, I don't offer:
Serious mould
Biowaste or sewage
Homes with a significant risk of sharps injuries, including needles
Higher risk hoarding environments, including Levels 3 to 5
Environments requiring specialist remediation, specialist equipment or additional workers
I’ll only take on work that I can safely and competently manage, including where I can maintain both physical and psychological safety for both of us. This also means working within my scope, and when something needs specialist support. I will always be transparent about my capabilities and when I’m not the right person to take it on.
My background is in mental health and community services, and I work in a trauma informed, recovery oriented, strengths based and person centred way.
I’m not coming into your home to judge how it became difficult to manage. You till get none of that from me. I’m coming in to work beside you on what would make things feel more manageable now.
I hope to create an environment where you feel comfortable sharing your story if you want to, but if you don’t, that’s okay too. It’s not a deal breaker at all. You don’t have to explain your whole life to deserve practical help.
I’ll just need enough information to understand the space as well as any safety considerations, and what you’d like help with and we can go from there.
I want support to be useful and I don’t want red tape and hoops getting in the way of someone asking for help. There will still be a safety and consent process to protect us both. Beyond that, your willingness to start is the only plan we need for this.
I suppose you might call this the 'catch' but it's important for me to preface it, so you can make an informed decision about what you're comfortable with.
Funding bodies put specific agreements, monitoring systems, and reporting rules into place when they fund an organisation or project. This includes things like measurable targets, milestones and deliverables, audits and evaluations
Yes - it gives the person receiving the support a clear points of start and end. It keeps things structured and you will be able to measure the progress you've made. I believe that funded programs and the key measures in place are important to assess whether something is working.
But the idea of this project isn't to gain funding that may only serve to create another barrier. The free resets are part of a broader goal for The Social Daisies Project.
The 'Someday' Resets is the first part of this and documenting the cleaning process and transformation will support the initiative.
My aim is for the content to create an income stream that helps fund the project, allowing me to continue offering these cleans free of charge. I also believe that with enough traction and visibility, it will create enough awareness for others in a similar position to reach out.
The purpose of filming is to help sustain the project and hopefully make it possible for more people to access this kind of practical help without cost becoming another barrier. But it shouldn't come at the expense of your privacy.
So, in short, this means:
You won’t appear on camera.
Identifying information will be excluded.
Geographical information will be excluded.
The filming will focus on the space, the cleaning process and the transformation so it is a condition of taking part in the project. The Reset can only go ahead if you’re comfortable consenting to that.
Before anything is agreed to though, we will go through the privacy statement and this will be an opportunity for us to discuss any reasonable adjustments that would make you more comfortable with the process.
Please view the Privacy and Filming Statement for further information about filming, consent, how content may be used, and how your privacy and personal information will be protected.
